72k was born from a personal journey of discovery, healing, and a deep respect for nature. My path began in Switzerland during my university years in Basel, where I studied musicology, media, and human–society–environment sciences and worked in a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice. There, I became deeply aware of the profound power of naturopathy to support health and well-being.
The Garden Fence Discovery
What started as an ordinary conversation with my neighbour turned into a discovery that shaped my future. He casually mentioned his work at Novartis with the plant Artemisia annua. I learned that research into this remarkable plant led to the discovery of artemisinin, a breakthrough malaria treatment that earned Tu Youyou the Nobel Prize in 2015 and saved millions of lives globally. Fascinatedly, scientists later discovered that compounds derived from Artemisia annua also possess unique dermatological properties. What began as a chat over the garden fence became my lighthouse—a reminder that life-changing ideas arrive when least expected.
